Rev. Patrick Embley
Prior to coming to Jacksonville in June 2017, Pastor Patrick served as Pastor in the First Baptist Church of Graymont, Illinois, and as Youth Minister at First Baptist Church of Lincoln, Camp Manager at Lake Springfield Baptist Camp, and Youth Minister at First Baptist Church of Jerseyville.
Patrick is a graduate of Jerseyville High School, holds a BA in Secondary Education from Western Illinois University and a Master of Divinity from Lincoln Christian University. He is married to Kelli, whom he met when they both served as counselors at Lake Springfield Baptist Camp. Kelli hails from Quincy, Illinois; she graduated from Quincy High School and Western Illinois University and is a high school Spanish teacher.
She enjoys golf, reading and Trivial Pursuit. They have four children: Daniel, Eli, Faith and Graycen.
Rev. Embley’s hobbies include playing and coaching golf, fishing, children’s sporting events, and all things Star Wars. Patrick continues to be deeply involved in the Christian camping ministry; he has co-directed a week-long junior high camp at Lake Springfield Baptist Camp for the last 15 years. Currently, he also serves as President of the Board of Directors of Lake Springfield Baptist Camp.

Kim Runkle, office manager
Kim has served as the office manager at First Baptist since April of 2006. Originally from Greenfield, Kim and her husband and daughter make their home just outside of Jacksonville. Kim holds a dual Bachelor's degree in Communications/Theatre and Economics/Business Administration from Illinois College. Prior to coming to First Baptist, she worked in advertising, international sales and accounting. Kim also serves as the Business and Marketing Manager for Lake Springfield Baptist Camp.

Sis Goben, RN, parish nurse
Sis is a retired Registered Nurse who now takes care of our parishoners' medical questions and concerns since completing the St. John's Parish Nursing program in 2005. On Mondays, Sis can be found visiting all of our shut-ins and nursing home residents. Other days, she makes house calls, takes people to doctor visits, and attends to those in the hospital or with special needs. She also holds a blood pressure clinic before our worship services on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month. |
